MEMBERSHIP SECTIONS
The following activities require membership of ACA
ART
Alwoodley Art Group is a mixed group of enthusiastic amateur and semi-professional artists who meet every Thursday evening at 7.30pm to pursue their love of drawing, painting, etc.
We paint and draw in a wide variety of styles. We hold regular Workshop evenings and days and we enjoy demonstrations by professional artists throughout the year.

BADMINTON
Badminton is played in the hall on Mondays from 9pm and Wednesdays from 8.30pm. We have one full-sized court.

CARPET BOWLS
The Carpet Bowls Section meets each Friday at 2-30 pm. We bowl until about 4 pm when the Social Club bar is available for those who want to stay on for a drink and chat. New members always welcome!

Alwoodley Chess Club: Meets Wednesdays 7pm. All standards welcome for competitive and friendly play.

CRAFT

FOOTBALL
Alwoodley Football Club was founded in 1999 in order to provide a social sporting football community within Alwoodley and the surrounding North Leeds Area. During the years the club has developed and had varying footballing success with county and league cup final appearance successes along the way. The club's ethos is centred around inclusivity, player development and a refreshed input into the local community.
We currently have 1 senior mens team playing in the supreme division of the Yorkshire Amateur League on Saturday afternoons and a U17 team playing in the Garforth Jinior League on Sunday mornings.

SINFONIA
Alwoodley Sinfonia is an orchestral group that meets on Sunday mornings in the Council Room. We have vacancies for new players in all sections, especially strings and brass. Our conductor knows how to get the best from our range of abilities.
Our extensive music library includes orchestral music of Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, as well as shorter items –
marches, waltzes, and lighter pieces.

SINGERS
Alwoodley Singers meet weekly on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. The group rehearses and performs regular concerts at ACA.

SOFTBALL TENNIS
Softball tennis is played in the Hall on Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm. For further details please contact alwoodleyca@gmail.com
TABLE TENNIS
We play in the hall on Monday evenings 7pm – 9pm using 4 tables usually. Everyone is welcome.
We also have a team in the Leeds League for those who would like to play competitively.

ALWOODLEY MARTIAL ARTS CLUB
Alwoodley Martial Arts Club is a family friendly club. We deliver safe lessons in Karate and Okinawan weapons. All of our instructors are CRB vetted and undergo strict child safety training.
Classes run on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 8pm in the Hall.

BABY BALLET
Award-winning, fun and informal dance classes for boys and girls aged 18 months to 6 years.With a real focus on learning through play, the babyballet® syllabus fits within the UK Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Our imaginative classes provide the opportunity for young children to learn and develop a number of key skills such as coordination, balance, counting and colour recognition as well as social skills such as sharing and turn-taking, all within a fun and positive environment! Using a range of props as well as our famous Teddy and Twinkle bears, our experienced teachers aim to instil confidence and a joy for dancing in all of our children!
